Our Privacy Policies

Creating a space where safety, trust, and transparency guide every step of your journey.

At Paloma’s Serenity, we hold your privacy in the highest regard. We understand that healing starts with a sense of safety—emotionally, physically, and digitally. Here, you’ll find essential details about how we safeguard your personal information, what you can expect in your interactions with us, and your rights as a client.

Privacy & Policies

Your Privacy Is Protected

Paloma’s Serenity follows all HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines to protect your health and personal information. This includes how we collect, store, and use your records.

  • We use encrypted, HIPAA-compliant systems for documentation, telehealth, and communication.

  • Your information is never shared without your written consent, except in specific legal or safety-related situations (outlined below).

  • We do not sell or share your information for marketing purposes, and we do not bill insurance—meaning your records stay fully private unless you choose otherwise.

For a complete version of our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, please contact us. You will also receive a downloadable copy during your intake process.

Good Faith Estimate

(Your Right to Know the Cost of Care)

Under federal law, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate that outlines the expected cost of services when paying out of pocket.

  • Before you begin therapy, we will provide a written estimate that includes our session rate, estimated frequency, and an overall cost projection.

  • This estimate is not a contract—you can change your pace or stop therapy at any time.

  • If your actual charges differ significantly from your estimate, you have the right to ask questions or dispute the bill.

We are committed to cost transparency. If you’d like a personalized estimate, just ask—we’re happy to provide one.

Confidentiality & Legal Disclosures

Everything shared in therapy is kept strictly confidential, with a few legally mandated exceptions:

  • If you are at risk of seriously harming yourself or someone else

  • If there is suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or vulnerable adult

  • If your records are ordered by a court

  • If you disclose plans involving terrorism or threats to public safety

These exceptions exist to protect safety. If a situation arises that requires a disclosure, we will speak with you whenever possible.

We offer secure online therapy sessions for clients located anywhere in Colorado. To protect your privacy during virtual sessions:

  • We use a HIPAA-compliant, encrypted telehealth platform

  • Sessions are never recorded without your permission

  • We recommend finding a private space and using headphones if possible

  • We will ask for your location and emergency contact at the start of telehealth sessions, just in case immediate help is ever needed

Your safety and comfort matter whether you're in our office or meeting from home.
